I’ve always enjoyed watching nature documentaries. It’s refreshing to see a peak of the world I don’t get to see from home. So, when I had the opportunity to review Frozen Planet, I was excited to see something new.
My Review of Frozen Planet:
I’ve always heard great things about Planet Earth, which is also from BBC Earth, so I knew that Frozen Planet had to be wonderful. I think that the Arctic and Antarctic are two of the most mystical places on the planet. With so much beauty in both scenery and animals, I’ve always been amazed that both can withstand the harsh environment. Luckily, technology has come to the point that we can see such wonders of nature from our warm homes.
The Frozen Planet Blu-ray set comes with 3 discs and includes 350 minutes the main feature. There’s also 244 minutes of special features, including a look at the scientific exploration of the South Pole. I also like that there is an option to view the series with music only. My favorite of the animals documented is hands down the polar bear mom with her cubs, though I found the whole series quite enjoyable and something I will likely watch again and again.
Final Takeaway: I think Frozen Planet is the perfect gift for families to view together. Plus, with the polar areas in seemingly greater danger than ever, I think it’s wonderful we get to see them as they are before they may change forever.
I received a copy of the above Blu-ray in exchange for my honest review. No other compensation was received and all words and opinions are my own.
