So, you’ve been blogging a while and now you’ve started signing up for various giveaways and events. Some of these may request that you post the giveaways, usually a Rafflecopter, on your Facebook page. I know I was pretty clueless when trying to figure out how to do this the first time, so I thought I would post a quick how-to for adding an Iframes tab to your Facebook page.
How to Setup Iframes on Facebook:
1. Install an Iframes app to your Facebook page such as: http://www.facebook.com/add.php?api_key=9b6c3032a5f661005f6c5a11f8c57377&pages. You will need to choose the page to install it to if you have multiples. Then go to your Facebook page and then to the application tab (usually named welcome) and authorize the app to use Facebook as you may do with other apps.
2. You will then want to insert the HTML for whatever content you want into the tab HTML source section. This section should automatically come up when you first visit the application tab.
3. Click on the Save Settings button. Then click on the View Tab button at the top to make sure everything looks like it’s supposed to as a fan.
4. To change the name of the tab to the name of the event, etc., go to your Facebook page wall, click on the edit page button in the top right corner, click on Apps in the left column, go to your Iframes app and click on Edit Settings. You should then be able to enter the Custom Tab Name, just make sure you save it.
To delete a tab after the contest has concluded, just go to Facebook page, mouseover the tab and click on the x button.
To place a tab on your page for another event once you have deleted the tab, go to your Facebook page wall, click on the edit page button, click on Apps in the left column, click on edit settings, then add the tab. Remember to click on edit settings and give the tab a name while you’re there! If for whatever reason the app is no longer listed, just start at #1 again. 🙂
As always, I wish you happy and successful blogging! If you have a question you’d like me to cover, feel free to leave a comment or email me.
